Jasmine Daly & Beni Altmann Present at LatinR Conference
Jasmine Daly and Beni Altmann are presenting a talk on The CRAN Cookbook at LatinR Conference: A conference about the use of R in R&D across various domains to virtual audiences on November 18-22, 2024.
The LatinR 2024 conference is just around the corner, offering a diverse program focused on the development and application of R in research, industry, and education. This year’s schedule includes talks and workshops that highlight cutting-edge tools, methodologies, and best practices for data science and statistical computing.
Opening Presentation
I am honored to open the conference alongside my CRAN Cookbook writing collaborator, Beni, with our presentation, “The CRAN Cookbook: Improving the Skills of R Package Maintainers” as part of the Package Development track. This session will cover strategies and resources to leverage the new community resource, CRAN Cookbook to find solutions to common package submission issues - hopefully expediting your R Package publication on CRAN!
Other Interesting Talks
You can explore the full conference program with many more talks: https://latinr.org/en/cronograma/programa/, but here are some highlights:
Health Applications: Innovative uses of R for public health reporting, data automation, and Shiny apps supporting analytics in open government.
Life Sciences: Talks on genomic analysis and outbreak detection in healthcare settings.
Automation & Visualization: Showcasing tools like Quarto, Shiny dashboards, and CSS integration for advanced reporting.
Teaching: Interactive tutorials with Quarto Live and educational R Shiny tools for data diagnosis.
Statistical Modeling: Cutting-edge time series forecasting with TimeGPT and exploring fractals, bi-archetypes, and time series for renewable energy.
Featured Keynotes
I’m also excited to watch the Keynotes from Will Landau and Julia Silge, leaders in the data science industry who will share insights around the practice of machine learning operations (MLOps) and R Programming.
Hope to See You There!
LatinR 2024 offers a platform to engage with the R community, exchange ideas, and explore impactful applications of R across many disciplines. I’m looking forward to connecting with colleagues and advancing the conversation at LatinR 2024!
